Virginia Klug, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born Mary Virginia Kreutzer in Peru, Indiana on April 4, 1926 to Jacob and Anna (Rhein) Kreutzer and attended St Charles Borromeo School, Peru, Indiana through second grade. Her family moved to Logansport Indiana and graduated from Logansport High School, in 1944. She attended Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana and graduated in 1948, but continued to enjoy trips back to her hometown. Ginnie was employed with the C&O Railroad prior to her marriage. In 1956, she married John Charles Klug. She was a longtime member of Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church and the Third Order of St Francis of Assisi, and volunteered with Heartbeat of Toledo. Throughout her life she strived to be a woman of great faith. Ginnie was selflessly devoted to her family. She enjoyed helping her children with homework, pets and their paper routes. School field trips, trips to ball practice, and fishing trips were memorable in the 1953 Packard Sedan. She treated her children's friends like family. While traveling to visit relatives in Peru, Indiana, Ginnie and her family would visit the circus, the town fair, MaConaquah Park, and fishing at the Spillway. She also took frequent trips to Canada with her family and once went on a pilgrimage with her daughter, Rose Marie, to Lourdes, France. Ginnie also enjoyed tending to her garden, house plants, sewing, grocery shopping, and cooking holiday dinners for her family and friends. Her love was never more evident then when she cared for her children's frequent injuries and illnesses, and convalesced her mother and later her mother-in-law in her own home. There is so much more to her story that can never be completely told. She will be dearly missed by her family and the many lives she touched.
