M. Virginia Layton, age 85, passed away June 20, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born May 24, 1928 to Leland Sharp and Mildred Miller Sharp in Van Wert, Ohio, she later moved to Toledo and graduated from Waite High School in 1946. She married Benny Layton on August 28, 1947 whom preceded her in death on August 25, 1988. A resident of Walbridge, Ohio for 57 years, Virginia enjoyed her community and raised her family there with her husband, Benny. A homemaker most of her life, she treasured her family and loved spending time with them at many holiday and birthday celebrations. She loved animals and enjoyed many pets throughout her life. Her interests included working in her yard, reading and embroidery.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Terry (Sharon) Layton, Linda (Gary) Keaton, Sheri (Michael) Rothfuss, Bonnie Humes; grandchildren, Terry Layton II, Jon Layton, Jodi (Dennis) Goodman, Stacie (Lamar) Goodwin, Keri (Adam Hull) Keaton, Jeffery (Patty) Sgro, Melissa (Jason) Eiden; 16 great grandchildren and her cat, Harold.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd., on Monday, June 24, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Services and interment will be private. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Virginia'™s memory are asked to consider the Wood County Humane Society. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Karl Fernandes.
