Virginia L. Meyer, 87, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away March 4, 2015, at Orchard Villa. Virginia was born in Weston, Ohio to Harold and Leland (Cook) Nixon. Virginia worked for Davis Besse for 12 years, retiring in 1990. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, shoe shopping, cooking and taking gambling trips to the casino with her husband, Donald. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bunco. Virginia was a member of the Alter Guild at First St. John Lutheran Church. Virginia is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald; children, David (Donna) Meyer, Denny (Loretta) Meyer; grandchildren, Shannon (Brad) Walter, Dustin (Melissa) Meyer, D.R. (Amanda) Meyer, D. Bryson (Alisha) Meyer; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Mildred Nixon. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Charity of Donor's Choice.
