Obituary

Vivian R. Kuhlman, 85, of Oregon, Ohio passed away in peace on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on May 9, 1927 to Harry and Eloise (Niles) Watson. She graduated from Libbey High School and worked for W.T. Grant'™s in downtown Toledo until her marriage to Paul on May 8, 1948. While rearing her family, Vivian worked for Oregon City Schools first as a bus driver, then as a cook at Eisenhower Jr. High before her retirement in 1984. Vivian became a member of First St. John Lutheran Church after she and Paul were married there 65 years ago. She served as Altar Guild member and Sunday School teacher for many years. At a young age, she became an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing for her loved ones as well as passing her knowledge along to 4H groups as their leader. After retirement, Vivian spent many enjoyable winters in Florida with her husband. In her later years, Vivian helped in the process of quilt making at her church. Vivian will be best remembered for the things she loved most including sewing, working in her yard, baking pies, spending time with her family and always doing for others. In the last few years, she was inspired by reading and book discussion, especially the Bible Surviving are her loving husband, Paul; daughters, Deborah (William) Rowland and Sue (Gregory) West; son, Kirk (Beth) Kuhlman; daughter-in-law, Anne Kuhlman; grandchildren, Uriah (Stashia) Kuhlman, Kristin (Jason) Perkins, Lindsey and Grant Rowland, Haley, Hannah and Trent Kuhlman; great-grandchildren, Emma and Maycee Kuhlman and Isabelle and Lilly Perkins; brother, Richard (Patsy) Watson and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry and son, John. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 30, 2013 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., from 3 TO 8 PM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday at First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Rd. Toledo, OH and where the family will greet friends after 10 AM. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice for their care, along with a special thanks to at-home caregiver Rosalinda Montoya and nurse Denise Hornyak.
