Obituary

Walter E. Baker, 75, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on August 10, 1922 at Majestic Care Toledo. He was born in Bettsville, Ohio on February 10, 1947 to John and Mildred (Down) Baker. After graduating High School he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country. He later worked for Chrysler for 35 years before retiring. On October 28, 1996 he married Barbara (Beebe). Walt was a member of American Legion Post 537, enjoyed bowling, gambling and camping. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and Cleveland Indians fan. Walt is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara; sisters, Jane (Leonard) Longo, Judy Bauer, Mary Brion; daughter, Melanie Matthews and step-son, James Kilbride. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert and John Baker Family and friends may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with military honors at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Walt's name may be directed to Kind Hearts Hospice.
