Walter D. Buck, 76, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his sons home. Mr. Buck was born in Detroit, Michigan October 21, 1944 to David and Virginia (Cartwright) Buck. In 1964, Walt graduated from Macomber High School and served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Radio Operator. Following military service, Walt worked for Arco Construction, Turner Construction, Mosser Construction and Rudolph Libbie as a member of Carpenters Local 1138. In 1983, Walt began a successful career as a millwright with Nabisco for over twenty years. He was an accomplished carpenter, and finish craftsman whose talents could be seen in many of Toledo's most prominent buildings. Walt was always willing to share his knowledge and skills with family and friends who needed help. He was a member of VFW Post 4906, where he served as chaplain.
Walt is survived by his former wife and loving caregiver, Gloria; children, Dean (Rinae) Buck and Andrea (Randy) Freeman; grandchildren, Chelsea, Kyle, Kaylee, Sylvia, and Olivera; along with dear friends Harry & Beverly Blausey; and many loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral and VFW service at 11:00am.
