Wanda Ilene (Jennings) Keefe
Wanda I. Keefe 88, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born September 4, 1924 in Perrysburg Ohio to Walter Ellis Jennings and Lathenia Viola (Karns) Jennings. She graduated from Leipsic High School, Leipsic, Ohio, and went on to work at Rossford Ordinance. She met and married James J. Keefe in 1946. She worked at Auto Lite and later as a secretary at Seibenicks Office Supply. After leaving there, she provided childcare for many years in her home. She was a very loving, nurturing, selfless mother, raising five children, and many times giving up things to make sure her children were provided for. Wanda thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for others, and most would agree that there was not a better pie baker around. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and made baby afghans for all her great grandchildren. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Lemoyne Rd. Wanda had many cherished friends, who along with her family will miss her greatly. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Charles Hospital ER and 2nd floor, also Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all there care and support of our mom in her final hours.
Surviving are her children, Raymond E. Keefe, Toledo, Rosalind E. (Terry) Coleman, Maumee, Valerie A. (Patrick) Lutman Northwood, James J. Keefe Jr., Millbury Ohio and Darlene F. (Steve) Rosswurm Holland, OH. She had eight grandchildren; Christopher, Curtis, Jeffery, Peter, DeAnna, Rachelle, Morgan, and very special grand-daughter Angela, and 15 great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Willis, and sister Lynette, and step-grandson Jonathan.
There will be a celebration of her life at Eggleston-Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Oregon, Ohio, on Monday October 22, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. with a brief service at 7:00 p.m. Interment services will be private at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Wanda'™s name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg Ohio 30000 River Rd.
