Warren E. Danekind, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away December 16, 2010, at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Warren was born in Meridan, Connecticut, on June 27, 1920 to Edward and Marie (Dehm) Danekind. On July 22, 1944, he married Doris Allmendinger and she survives. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan in Chemical Engineering and worked for Sun Oil for 40 years, retiring in 1983. Warren was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church where he served on church council and as an Elder. Warren was a founding member of the Oregon Jerusalem Historical Society. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed photography and Michigan Wolverine Football. Hobbies included golf, woodworking, camping, canoeing, and bowling. Warren was active with Sun Oil Retirees and the Sun Emblem Club. Warren is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris; children, John (Donna) Danekind of Trenton, OH, Gwen (Tim) Willson of Oman, Martin (Yvonne) Danekind of Oregon, OH, and Gayle Martinez of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Sean, Carrie, Nathaniel, Tyler, Eddie, Asa, Andy, Luke, Natasha; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Abigail, Elijah, Lillian, and Elise. Also survived by many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marion. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Sunday, December 19th, from 12:00-6:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday at First St. John Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at First St. John Cemetery.
