Wayne E. Fork, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 17, 1925 to Edgar and Edith (Elliott) Fork. During World War II, Wayne served on the U.S.S. Vestal in the United States Navy. On September 14, 1946, he married Jean Holder. Wayne worked for C&O and New York Central Railroad and retired as a stationary engineer from Clay High School in 1982 after 30 years of service. His hobbies included: woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling to 47 of the 50 states. Wayne was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and served as Cubmaster of Pack 310 Genoa, Ohio and Assistant Scoutmaster of Troops 310 & 385 Genoa, Ohio.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean; children, Sue (Fred) Jensen, Dan (Pat) Fork, Deb (Larry) Sampsel and Mark (Rhonda) Fork; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Collum; along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Kunz; and brothers – in- law, Gerald Collum and Robert Kunz.
Private funeral services will take place. Interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, Toledo, Ohio 43605. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
