Wayne E. 'œLollipop' Lytle, 78, passed away July 17, 2013 at Orchard Villa. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 8, 1934 to Ernest L. and Ruth (McCann) Lytle. Wayne was employed as a Millwright at LOF for 36 years, retiring in 1989. He also had a small farm. Among the many animals he raised were rabbits, chickens and pigs. Wayne was an avid vegetable gardener and had a large fruit orchard. He also grew grapes for the special wine he enjoyed making. People affectionately knew him as 'œLollipop'. Wayne was an amateur weight lifter holding the heavy weight title from 1956-1971. In his youth, Wayne tried out for the Cleveland Browns, but did not make the team because he had only one kidney. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his spouse, Esther; children, Kayleen Lytle, Russell (Joann) Lytle and Charmaine (Richard) Glenn; Laura Lytle and Lynn (Mike) Folk; grandchildren, Michael Digby, Amanda (Andrea) Robinson, Alyssa Vollmor, Michael Lytle, R.J. Hrevnak, Megan Carter, Chelsea, Cory and Collin Folk. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
