Weldon E. Davis, 76, of Oregon, OH passed away Wednesday morning, June 16, 2004 at the Toledo Hospital.
He was born in Pontiac, MI on June 3, 1928 to Harley and Rose (Marsico) Davis. Weldon served in the US Navy from 1945-1949. On July 1, 1950, Weldon married Rosetta Petty. Two weeks later he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. This life changing event shaped the next 54 years of his life. Weldon graduated
from Bible College in 1958 and served as a minister at churches in Massachusetts, Illinois and Iowa. In 1966 he
became a missionary to the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. In 1968 he moved to Oregon, OH where he served
as the senior pastor at Grace Evangelical Church (New Harvest Church) for 27 years before retiring in 1995. He
received his Doctorate degree in 1984 from Ashland Theological Seminary and a Masters degree in counseling
and education from the University of Toledo in 1995. Weldon also taught at Ashland Theological Seminary as an adjunct professor for 25 years. Although he excelled in his educational and professional life, his greatest
pleasures were his relationship with God, his family, and his friends.
Weldon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosetta; children, Debbie (Cecil) Quamina, Mark (Wendy), Philip,
and Rhonda; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Virginia, Louise, Margaret and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held in the New Harvest Christian Church, 3540 Seaman Rd., Oregon, OH on Sunday from 2-9 p.m., and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in
Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Weldon's memory can be made to the family, who will divide the donations among their favorite charities. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert
