Wenceslaus M. Nemecek, 74, of East Toledo, Ohio passed away July 11, 2004 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 12, 1929 to Frank and Theresa (Krizan) Nemecek. Veno was employed as a conductor by Conrail for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He was a social member of the VFW Post 4906, the Stanley Hunt Club and Holy Rosary Church. Veno enjoyed gardening, going to the racetrack and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Steve (Mary), Marty (Patti), Chris, Joe (Lori) Nemecek and Michelle (Rob) LaPlante; grandchildren, Christian (Vickie), Jessica, Steve, Jr., Chris, Jr., Jeff, Mike (Coral), Sarah, Ruth Ann, Nemecek, Melissa, Tom, Jr. and Josh Muenzer, Allen, Joe, Jr., Joyce, Jackie and John Nemecek; great grandchildren, Devyn, Heaven, Riannea, Chris III, and Julianna; sister, Alice (Bill) Kubista; brother, Frank Nemecek and several nieces and nephews. Veno was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stanislaus.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to Holy Rosary Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Veno's honor can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Holy Rosary Church.
