Wendel R. Mildon, 78, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2018. He was born in Houghton, Michigan on November 11, 1939 to John and Marcella (Dragoo). Dick graduated from Waite High School and went on to serve in the Air Force. He was a parts auditor for Hydromatic for over 30 years before retiring in 1989. Dick loved antiques and old cars. He lovingly restored a 1957 Chevy convertible and proudly took it to Park and Shine and many other car shows every year. Dick's restoration was so impressive that he won a trophy at the Jerry Lewis Car Show. He loved traveling the country with his wife, Janice, and together they have been spending their winters in Florida since 1990. Dick was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. Of all the things Dick loved, his family and spending time with them was his true pride and joy.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janice; children, William (Darlene), John (Shelia); grandchildren, Aaron (Jamie) Maier, Ryan, Nick (Aurora), Christian, Cameron, Christopher (Jodie), Zachary, Anthony; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Daryl (Gloria). He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Dick's memory are asked to consider New Hope Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
