William E. Beals Sr., 87, formerly of Oregon, OH passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Kingston of Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 16, 1923 to William J. and Wilma (Patterson) Beals. Bill was a graduate of Clay High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II. He had been employed as a terminal operator for Ashland Oil, retiring in 1988. Bill was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church. He enjoyed countless hours tending to his yard and loved hunting for his special 'œtreasures'. Bill never turned his back on a stray animal and was blessed with many longtime friends. Surviving are his son, Kent 'œMick' (Cathy) Beals; daughter, Sue Beals; grandchildren, Chadd and Kristine Beals, David, Dean and Dion Mikolajczyk and their mother, Darleen Beals; great grandchildren, Matthew and Heather Beals,; 1 great great grandchild. William was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois A. (nee Emery) Beals; son, William Jr., and grandson, Terry Beals. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at Glenwood Lutheran Church, 2545 Monroe St., Toledo, Ohio 43620 at 10:30 a.m. with interment following in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
