William R. Bensman, 100, of Kingston Residence of Perrysburg and formerly of Millbury, OH, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born in Toledo on April 26, 1906, to the late Frank and Grace (Davis) Bensman His wife, Neita, passed away last year after 77 years of marriage. William was employed with Sinclair (ARCO) for many years before retiring in 1971. Bill was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where he served on church council. He was an avid Buckeye fan and euchre player. He was a very handy carpenter, building his own home in Millbury and also volunteering for many years at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He loved his family very much and was adored by his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Richard (Kay) of Marco Island, FL, David (Rose) of Stockton, CA and Suzanne Green; sister, Mary Ellen (Ralph) Diefenbach; sister-in-law, Barbara (Dale) Swartz; grandchildren, Richard (Holley) Bensman, Laura Bensman, Pamela (Chris) Mossing, Deborah (Vincent) Marinelli, David Bensman and Suzanne Bensman; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Donna Maye; brothers, Frank and Philip; sisters, Florence, Marie, Caroline, Martha, Ruth and Margaret; son-in-law, Charles Green; granddaughter, Rebecca Hersom and great-grandson, William Bensman. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, from 2 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Ft. Meigs Cemetery. Memorial contributions in William's memory may be sent to St. Mark Lutheran Church Capital Campaign or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
