William Cross, 78 yrs. of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Bill was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 3, 1937. He was a 1956 graduate of Macomber and Waite High Schools. Prior to retirement Bill was an Iron Worker, working the former Art Iron and various other iron companies. He was also a commercial fisherman from 1954 until 1974. Bill was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local #55. Bill also enjoyed bowling. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis A.; children, Benjamin L. (Carol) Cross, William Michael (Susan) Cross; Cheryl (Willie) Shelton, Robert Cross; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Clark. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur William and Fern Cross; his best friend, Gene Fangman. Visitation will be at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-8 pm and where his funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow.
