William R. 'œGentleman Bill' Hahn, 66, of Gibsonburg, OH, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Curtice, OH on August 18, 1945 to William H. and Geneva (Hensley) Hahn. Bill was currently employed by NuCentury Textile in their maintenance department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Fremont, OH and an avid race car driver. Bill won several Dirt Track championships racing in Fremont, Findlay, Eldora and Attica to name a few.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Lillian F.; children, Kenneth L. Hahn and Kerry S. Frye; grandchildren, James R. Boatman, Heather and Nicole Hahn, Kodi and Katie Frye and Laci Woolf; great grandson, Trenton Frye; mother, Geneva Sparks; siblings, Ruth A. Potridge, Paul E. Hahn, Robert L. (Andrea) Hahn, Janet K. Hall, Betty M. (Larry) DeGraw and Russell L. Hahn along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Hahn; brother, Lawrence N. Hahn, infant twin siblings, Kenny and Carol and sister, Helen L. Parker.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. (east of I-280) on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment in Clay Township Cemetery will be private. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Bill'™s memory are asked to consider Mercy St. Vincent Trauma and Burn Center.
