William R. 'œBillco' Komives, 65, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 16, 1945 to Anthony and Mary (Fuleky) Komives. Bill was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School, where he was an all city first team offensive football player and 2nd team all city defensive player. He also was an all city wrestler and was an amateur heavy weight champion at Wetstone in Columbus and a sectionalist in the AAU Olympics. William was a Boilermaker for 40 years and worked for Unitcast, the shipyards and retired from Hans Hansen in 2007.
Surviving are his partner of 28 years, Charlotte 'œLottie' Downey; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Marlyn) Komives; many nieces and nephews, Tony, Harold, Bobby, Ronnie, Billy, Jimmy, Marty, Johnny, Gina, Connie, Tina R., Carrie, Tommy and Tina N. Bill was also survived by Gary, Terry, Walter, Misty, Shirley, Glenda and especially Mia. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Martindale; brother, Anthony Komives.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at North Oregon Cemetery.
