William M.Candy Man Pasztor Sr., 87, of Toledo, passed away Satruday, April 29, 2006 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio at Perrysburg. Mr. Pasztor was born in Toledo on January 12, 1919 to Nicholas and Mary (Fecso) Pasztor. He was the owner and operator of Pasztor's Pure Oil/Union 76 Service Station for 15 years. He also worked for the City of Toledo for 15 years. Mr. Pasztor was a US Army veteran of World War II. He served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy where he received 5 Bronze Stars. William was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Church serving for many years on the church board. He was a charter member of VFW Post #4906. Mr. Pasztor was also inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret; sons. William (Jane) and Nicholas(Denise) Pasztor; grandchildren, Melissa Mlynek, Melinda, Victoria, Michaela, Katarina Pasztor and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Margaret Pasztor; brother, Steve Pasztor and sister, Helen Kandik.
Family and friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue where visitation will be Monday from 2 to 9 pm. St. Michael's memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm followed by VFW services at 7:30pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 am followed by the Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial services held in St. Michael Byzantine Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Michael's Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
