Obituary

William Howard Peters, 77, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away after a brief illness, Thursday, March 19, 2009, at St. Charles Hospital. Bill was born in Millbury, Ohio on January 23, 1932 to Howard and Margaret (Bergen) Peters. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Bill had worked for the Pepsi Cola Company for many years and had retired from the Toledo Lakefront Docks where he was a longshoreman for 39 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. Bill was also a member of Toledo Swiss; a member of the Liars Club of Citrus Park Florida where he and his wife spent their winters. Bill also sang in the men's chorus in Florida and performed as a clown named "Maytag" bringing joy to many. He enjoyed Barbershop music. In his spare time Bill was known to give ukulele lessons. Surviving are his wonderful wife of 52 years, Joanne; children, Tammy Mohrbach, Jacquelyn (Patrick) McBride, Tracy (Neil) Harder; grandchildren, Melissa, Cassie, Lindsay, Mackenzie, Noah, Nicholas, Kelly; great-grand-daughter, Jada; sisters, Carolyn Kreig, Norma Raiha. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Randy. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Bill's memory are asked to consider the donors favorite charity.
