William Herman Pieper III, of Point Place, Ohio, passed away on February 18, 2021 at the Oregon, Ohio home of his loving companion, Barbara McGee, after complications following surgery, with her by his side. Bill was born to William and Jeanette (Clough) Pieper II on August 21, 1949. He graduated from Lake High School, attended BGSU and served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He married Billie Evans on May 10, 1983 and she preceded him in death in 1997. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years. He was a carrier at Point Place and then a supervisor at various stations. He was a member of the former Point Place VFW and very proud of all he accomplished while serving as Commander. Bill's real passion was music. He and Billie performed all over Northwest Ohio until her death. The last 23 years he and Barb traveled as often as they could. Their favorite vacation destinations were upstate New York, especially Cooperstown and Finger Lakes area, which were Barb's favorite spots. They also enjoyed going out West to Montana, Wyoming and Colorado because Bill loved the Rocky Mountains. They were trying to visit all 50 states, but fell 7 short.
Bill is survived by his father, William (Viola) Pieper II, of Allen, Texas; sister, Debi Paseff, of B.G.; niece, Nicki Paseff and her children, Shane and Paige; step-daughter, Kelly (Chuck) Pizarro, of Kenilworth, N.J., her children; Billie and Joseph; step-granddaughter, Brittney Olah, her daughter, Aubrey; girlfriend, Barbara McGee, her son, Bobby (Heather) and his children, Jacob, Megan Lepeak and Bill's "little buddy," Brandon; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette and wife, Billie.
There will be no funeral service at this time, mainly due to COVID-19, but there will be a Celebration of Life in Bill's honor sometime this summer. A heartfelt thank you to Kim from Grace Hospice for the compassionate care she has given Bill. Memorial contributions may be given to Donor's Choice. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
