William L. "Buckeye Bill" Soldner, 80, formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2008, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Altoona, PA on October 2, 1927, to Joseph and Perpetua (Altmanshoofer) Soldner. "Buckeye" earned his name as a truck driver with Buckeye Beer and retired from Metropolitan Distributing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, the Bavarian Club and the Christ Dunberger Post. Surviving are his daughters, Linda Fink and Beth (Santos) Rodriguez; brothers, Joseph and Richard (Nina) Soldner; sisters, Betty Munding, Janet (Carl) Bachmeyer, Eleanor (Carl) Olson, Alice (Ernie) Heller and Donna Soldner; grandchildren, Bryan, Brent (Jodi) Fink, Santos, Ramon and Geena Rodriguez and great- grandson, Jerod Fink. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margarette; son, Dennis; brother, Robert; sister, Anna Marie Cummins and sisters- in-law, Joann, Mary Jane and Lucille. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from 3-9 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd, Oregon, OH with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Adalbert Church for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Special thanks to his brothers and sisters, who consistently visited him at Orchard Villa with their love and support.
