William Ray Tinsley II, 78, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 in his home. He was born in Charleston, W. Virginia on August 4, 1930 to Raymond and Hazel Belle (Welch) Tinsley. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a pipe fitter with the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 50 for 55 years and retired in 1988. Ray was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He enjoyed fixing cars with his son and also enjoyed country music. Ray was known by such names as "Cowboy" and "Tex" to his friends.
Surviving are his daughters, Connie (Ben) Bolen, Cindy Tinsley (Jack Fry), Chris Briones (Greg Fox), Carol (Thomas) Worden and Catrina (Jeremy) Barnes; brother, Ken Tinsley; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, son, William Ray Tinsley III, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 1-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Williams memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
