Obituary

Bill Tober, a life-long resident of East Toledo, was called home peacefully on August 24, 2013, at the age of 72 years. He was born in Toledo , OH on July 10, 1941 to Henry and Dorothy (Ruffert) Tober. Bill married Sally Erdman on July 11, 1964. To this union two sons William and Donald; two daughters Julie and Sally were born. A dedicated Christian all his life. He attended the Toledo, Gospel Tabernacle from birth to early years of marriage and also serving the Lord at East Toledo Wesleyan Church. Bill graduated from Waite in 1959, where he participated in the school marching band playing the tuba. He knew that was a sure way to all of the football games. Through the years, his passion for football grew watching his sons playing for Waite or attending little league games on Saturday morning. Even with his ailment Bill was at the end zone in his wheel chair cheering Waite on in the 2012 season. Bill was a Hoosier at heart, attending many basketball and football games with his family members. In 2007 he retired from G.M. Powertrain, Toledo, with more than 35 years of service. He was associated with and a member of the East Toledo Family Center, East Side Historical Society, East Toledo Senior Center, and the Toledo Refining Company Community Advisory Panel. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sally; children, William, Julie Harris, Donald (Amy) Tober, Sally Erdman-Tober; grandchildren, Joshua and John Harris, Kalyn and Kaleb Tober, Daniel and Robert Tober; brothers, James (Jan) Tober, Richard (Barb) Hessick, Ellen Davidson; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Buster, Peyton, Sassy girl and Jack.
