Obituary

William Wauford, 75, of Perrysburg, OH passed away Monday, November 28, 2005 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Lebanon, TN on September 1, 1930 to William R. and Mary Etta (Carr) Wauford. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Clay High School, where he was named All-Conference in football. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bill was employed as an engineer, 44 years, for the NY Central Railroad and later Conrail, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, American Legion Post #240 in Luckey, OH, Zenobia Temple Guards, a 50 year member of Paragon Lodge (Port Lawrence 685), and member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a hard working, unselfish, caring man who was more concerned about others than himself. Bill loved his family and spending time with them. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 yrs., Marilyn (nee Lester); sons, William (Cindy) and James (Nora); grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa), William (Erin), Dave Wauford and Josie Wauford; great-grandchildren, Madison, Reanne, Logan and Elizabeth; brother, Jerry (Judy); sister, Carol (Howard) Williams and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Wednesday, from 2 until 9 p.m. with Paragon Lodge services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 12 Noon with interment to follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
