William E. Wegman, 94, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Genoa Care Center. Bill was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio on February 5, 1922 to Edward and Alma (Schneider) Wegman. Bill served his country during WWII enlisting in the U.S. Army and was also a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He was a carpenter for 40 years retiring in 1987. After his retirement Bill and his wife, Ginny, moved to Arizona for 23 years returning to Ohio in 2010. He was a member of First St. John's Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 62 yrs, Ginny and his 11 siblings. Left to cherish his memory are his 5 children, Richard of Bowling Green, Jeanne (Richard) Crossen of Toledo, Gail (Kevin) Browning of Oak Harbor, Barbara Allgire of Millbury, Sandra (Donald) Crossen of Holland; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Street, on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The family will begin greeting guests at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in First St. John Cemetery.
