Ysrael Hernandez, 93, of Oregon, passed away on October 21, 2016 at Parkcliffe at Northwood. He was born on August 15, 1923 to Cornelius and Juana Hernandez. Ysrael was a member of Epiphany of the Lord St. Stephen's Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Ysrael had retired from Toledo Edison after 30 years where he worked at Water Street, Acme Station and Bayshore Plant as a boiler operator. Ysrael and wife, Susan raised their family in Ironville before moving to Oregon. He was a proud member of the IBEW Union for over 60 yrs and he was also a member Latino Club. In his spare time he loved listening to music; he also was an avid bowler, bowling until he was 85 with his sons and grandson. His real love was spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren.
Ysrael is survived by his children, Janie (Jesse) Sulaica, Tony (Beckie) Hernandez, John (Sandy) Hernandez, David (Mona) Hernandez, Diane (David) Kania; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife of 66 years, Susan; parents and siblings.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will also greet friends at Epiphany of the Lord St. Stephen's Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution in Ysrael's name are asked to consider Epiphany of the Lord St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
Ysrael's family would like to thank his home caregivers, Lindsey, Kerry, Ruth and to the staff at Parkcliffe Community for the care, love and compassion given to Ysrael.
