Yvonne "Bonnie" Marie Patterson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends, on April 17, 2025. She was born on May 14, 1935, to Charles and Mary Bevier in Toledo, Ohio. Bonnie attended Woodward High School and later married Norman Patterson, she devoted herself to raising a family and creating a warm loving home.
Bonnie had a passion for cooking, baking, and gardening. She was renowned for her exceptional baking skills, and her cooking was truly remarkable. Her pies, fried chicken, spaghetti, and pepper steak were unforgettable! Her home and garden were always well-kept and worthy of magazine features. In her 60s, Bonnie decided to join the workforce as a food demonstrator at Foodtown, and later at Kroger, where she thrived in a role that was as much about social interaction as it was about earning a paycheck. Everyone who met her couldn't help but love her.
Family and friends were the heart of Bonnie's world. She treasured the roles of Ma, Mom, Grandma, Gigi, Aunt Bonnie and Bonnie. Her grandsons, Curt and Greg, were the first to be showered with Grandma's love for 20 wonderful years before Sydney, Addison, Evan, and KK arrived to share the joy. Bonnie embraced the digital age with enthusiasm, creating cherished memories with her grandchildren through FaceTime, TikTok videos, live Facebook sessions and liking every picture or story they posted. Later, she welcomed great-grandchildren Vincent, Natalie, and Isabelle, each one bringing new light into her life. She also gained two bonus granddaughters, Megan and Bianca, who become part of her extended circle of love. Additionally, Aunt Bonnie was a guardian to her great-nephew Nicholas, showering him with affection as well.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Donald (Nancy) Collins, Jennifer (Edward) Patterson; grandchildren, Curt (Bianca) Collins, Greg (Megan) Collins, Sydney Witek, Addison Witek, and Evan Thompson; and her great-grandchildren Vincent, Natalie, and Isabelle.
